We’ve moved our event date to November 8, 2014, and are starting at 9:00 am this year instead of 8:00 am. The combination of a later start time and the end of Daylight savings time will give the sun a two hour head start and a little extra sleep for the participants and volunteers.


We have added more single track and an extra loop to our 25 mile Challenge Course for those riders wishing to ride the technical portions one more time. Those choosing to add the second loop will enjoy 40 miles of rocks, sand washes and cactus as you hammer through our pristine air and clear blue skies. Check out the Challenge map.


This year we still have the Tame 10 mile course for those not into extreme riding. See Tame 10 Map.


We also have the Family Five mile course for those looking for an easy cruise on their bikes and also for those who want to feel the ground beneath their feet. See the 5 mile Run/Walk map.


Lucerne Valley is a scenic little town located in the High Desert of California. We are located just 26 miles north of Big Bear Lake, 28 miles east of Victorville and 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

The Registration, Start/Finish and Vendors Row are all located at the Lucerne Valley Middle/High School, 33233 Rabbit Springs Road. Directions from LA: Take the I-10 S toward San Bernardino to the I-15 North toward Las Vegas, through the Cajon Pass, take exit #147 to Bear Valley Road east toward Apple Valley / Lucerne Valley. Stay on Bear Valley Road 12.5 miles, merge onto Highway 18 east, go 11 miles to four-way stop. Turn left on Barstow Road/Hwy 247, go 1.8 miles turn right on Rabbit Springs Road, the Lucerne Valley Middle/High School is .6 miles, turn right just past the east corner of the school parking lot onto Ladera Road and follow the signs to the registration area and starting line.


We provide RV parking and grass for tents, so feel free to show up the night before. Day of event sign-in is 7-8:30 am, with participant meeting at the Start line at 8:45. Riders, runners, and walkers all leave the start at 9:00 am sharp.


If you like to Mountain bike, run or walk, you will enjoy this event. Casual touring cyclists and family bikers will enjoy the Tame 10 mile course and the Family 5 mile course on broad well-maintained and lightly traveled dirt access roads with some sandy stretches. The 25/40 mile course is for those who enjoy intense desert trails of sand, rock, hill climbs, downhill and single track.

Safety and fun is our goal for all participants. We ask that all riders wear a helmet, follow our traffic regulations and have a great time! The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the Citizens on Patrol (COPs) will be assisting at all highway crossings. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian rider/runner/walker.


Out of this World BBQ will be providing our lunches at the finish line with a promise of more food than ever this year. Your lunch is included in the price of the ride. Break stops will be stocked with water and snacks and porta-potties. SAG vehicles will be roving the routes to assist with minor mechanical problems, first-aid, and fatigue. There will also be a bike mechanic available before the ride.


We have a limited number of t-shirts this year, so be sure to pre-register and be counted for this great commemorative souvenir.


Hotels are located in the communities of Big Bear Lake and Victorville. Camping onsite is free.
